IES Technical Luncheon: Synergistic Buildings in the Era of IoT
February 20, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm EST
$25 – $50Commercial buildings today are a combination of many subsystems all working traditionally in relative autonomy. The emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) has given buildings intelligence that is highly beneficial when leveraged across these systems. This seminar strives to cut through the hype and buzz surrounding the emergence of IoT by introducing how interconnected technology enabled by IoT can be leveraged to make tangible improvements to building operations and efficiency through collective use of information. Starting with a foundation in the concept of a Synergistic Building, the attendees will gain a conversational understanding of the five technological elements required to design and implement a practical information-based building solution. Careful analysis will be given to the associated advantages and trade-offs of these synergistic style systems.
PRESENTER:
