IES Toronto Lightwalk January 2019 Hotel X

Register today as you won’t want to miss this LightWalk event taking place at the amazing new Toronto X Hotel.
Lighting Designers Lana Lenar and Robert Van Antwerp from Manhattan, NY will share their design inspirations as they lead us through a variety of lighting applications all under one roof. The unique design of this modern hotel offers a unique variety of traditional hotel amenities as well as some unexpected treasures. Following the tour, enjoy refreshments and breathtaking views at The Perch in Falcon Skybar located on the 28th floor, Toronto’s only rooftop, tri-level bar.”

SPEAKERS:
Lena LenarLana Lenar
As the Founder Creative Director, Lana Lenar brings over 25 years of design and lighting firm marketing to zeroLUX. Prior to starting zeroLUX, Lana was Senior Designer and Project Manager for Patdo Lighting Studio in NYC. Lana has worked with renowned Architectural firms throughout the world; most recently designing such projects as Hotel X, Toronto; 23 TCS Hotel, Hong Kong; and multiple 3.1 Phillip Lim Stores, NYC, Asia and Moscow. She recently completed the 3-square block mall Brickell City Center in Miami FL. Currently, Lana is working on the TSX Broadway and the COVERGIRL flagship store, both in Times Square NYC. Included in her 25 years of experience, Lana has designed over 3 million square feet of High End Residential and Private Development Projects, as well as multiple locations of many Restaurants, Offices and Retail Stores. Under Lana’s direction, zeroLUX’s work has been featured in Interior Design, House and Garden, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Surface, Hospitality Design, The Robb Report, Metropolitan Home, and New York Magazine. Lana has a Bachelor of Arts from Drew University, is a speaker for the ASID, and is Past President of the Designer’s Light Forum in New York City.

Robert van AntwerpRobert Van Antwerp
Robert Van Antwerp is the Studio Director and Senior Project Manager at zeroLUX lighting design and has been a part of the team for 6 years. Prior to zeroLUX, he had worked as a project manager at a high-end contracting firm. With the team at zeroLUX, Robert has executed a wide variety of projects, including Hotel X Toronto; DGBG Washington DC; multiple Malin + Goetz apothecaries; Arrojo salons; as well as facilities for New York University and Columbia University. His work has been featured in Interior Design, The Washington Post, Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Hospitality Design, and New York Magazine. Robert is one of the founding members of Flint Collective. The multi-disciplinary organization strives to transform the quality and experience of public space in New York City through lighting. He has also been involved in the Guerilla Lighting project at the 1964 New York World’s Fair Pavilion in Flushing, Queens.
Robert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural History and Historic Preservation from the University of Delaware.
